Pension increases for 16 civil servants
It has emerged that 16 civil servants, mostly from the health sector, have had their pensions topped up by the Government over the past two years.
Newspaper reports out today state that one person received a €55,000 lump sum.
It also says the Department of Finance has confirmed that civil servants’ pensions are now regularly topped up.
And it warns the total number receiving pension boosts could be much higher as these figures only deal with increases sanctioned by the Finance Minister.
The spotlight was turned on pension increases recently after it emerged that ex FAS-boss Roddy Molloy received a €1m pension increase.
