The Lord Mayor of Dublin is today appealing to striking taxi drivers to call off protests that have been causing severe traffic disruption in the city centre.

Around 100 taxi drivers are demonstrating on O'Connell Street for the second day running in protest at the number of licences being issued in the industry.
