Traffic gridlock expected as taxi drivers to continue Dublin protest
Protesting taxi drivers are expected to cause more traffic disruption in Dublin today as part of their campaign for restrictions on the number of licences being granted.
Yesterday, a group calling itself The Irish Taxi Council caused major disruption when its members drove in convoy onto O'Connell Street and then decided to completely block one side of the street.
The later allowed one lane of traffic to reopen, but they continued to block the other lane overnight and are still at the scene today.
Commuters are being warned to expect more delays today and motorists are being advised to avoid the city centre.
