Irishman’s body recovered from river in Laos

The body of an Irish tourist who went missing in Laos last week has been recovered from a river in the north of the country.

Michael O'Sullivan, from Blackpool in Cork, went missing on the Nam Xong River last Thursday.

He and his wife were "tubing" at the time - a form of rafting which is a popular tourist activity in the region.

The couple, who were married last November, were in Laos on a delayed honeymoon.

Mr Sullivan's wife had led the search party that eventually located his body yesterday.
