Kenny announces series Lisbon meetings at billboard launch
Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny TD has today announced that the party will be holding Lisbon meetings right across the country tomorrow.
He was speaking at the launch of Fine Gael’s billboard campaign at Sherrard Street in Dublin as part of its ongoing drive to secure a successful ‘Yes’ vote in the Lisbon Treaty Referendum.
Meetings will be held in almost every constituency at 8pm.
Speaking at today’s event, Kenny said: "I am delighted to be launching the latest phase of Fine Gael’s strong and vigorous campaign for a 'Yes' vote."
"On my tour of the country I detect a growing positive mood towards the Lisbon Treaty. More and more people are telling me they have a greater understanding of the issues involved. I am hopeful that our positive campaign over the next two weeks will convince people of the importance of staying at the heart of Europe."
Kenny was joined at the launch by the Party’s MEPs Jim Higgins (North West), Sean Kelly (South), Mairéad McGuinness (East) and Gay Mitchell (Dublin). The event was also attended by Young Fine Gael Yes to Lisbon campaigners who arrived on the party’s branded Lisbon bus.
Details were also announced of the nationwide drive of Lisbon meetings being held tomorrow (Monday) right across the country.
