Remembrance day to be held for homicide victims

The families and friends of those who have died through homicide are holding a remembrance day today for those killed.

Former President Mary Robinson will be the guest of honour.

The event is being organised by AdVic which is the support and lobby group in Saint Saviour's Dominican Priory in Limerick.

Spokesperson Aoife Mulvanney hopes the day creates greater awareness among the general public of the problems faced by the families and friends.

She said the justice system is unfairly balanced against victims’ families and a new system is needed.
