Breast Cancer Awareness month begins
Four out of 10 women who discover a lump in their breast do not seek medical attention immediately.
According to a new study from the Irish Cancer Society, 16% of women wait for up to two weeks before going to the doctor, while 4% wait for more than a year.
Most say this is because they did not think the lump was serious.
The survey was conducted to mark the launch of Breast Cancer Awareness Month today.
