The Taoiseach is staunchly defending the government's NAMA plans after an opinion poll showed 40% of voters are opposed to the legislation.

The poll shows that just 26% are in favour of the National Assets Management Agency, which will buy up the bad loans from the banks and 34% had no opinion.
