A Northern Ireland woman died and her husband was left seriously injured after the couple crashed while on a motorcycling holiday in Germany.

A Northern Ireland woman died and her husband was left seriously injured after the couple crashed while on a motorcycling holiday in Germany.

Angela Armour, from Carrickfergus, died in a German hospital last night after the accident in the south west of the country on Saturday.

It is understood her husband Laurence Armour sustained serious injuries in the crash in the Black Forest region.

Ms Armour, a civl servant in her late 40s, was nearing the end of her holiday when the incident took place.

A spokeswoman from the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it was providing support to family members.

“We can confirm the death of a British National and the hospitalisation of another British National after a motorbike accident in Germany,” she said.

“We are providing consular assistance to the family.”
