Girl suffers severe head injuries in cliff fall

A teenage girl is in hospital in Belfast with severe head injuries after falling from a mountain top.

The girl, who was camping with friends, fell about 20 metres from Cave Hill, down a cliff into deep undergrowth.

Forty rescuers, including firefighters, were involved in recovering her. They described the rescue operation, which took about three hours, as very complex.
