SIPTU is refusing to condemn yesterday's protest at Dublin Port in which demonstrators tried to block the port.

The blockade was organised by supporters of workers at Marine Terminals Limited who are engaged in a long running dispute with the company over redundancies.

Today, Dublin Port Company obtained an injunction against the protestors and has described the act as irresponsible and dangerous.

It has also called on SIPTU to condemn the incident.

However, SIPTU's Frank Connolly said the protestors were nothing to do with the union and Dublin Port Company has a role to play in resolving the row.
