The Government has announced a €3m donation towards combating child labour, human trafficking and forced labour in the developing world.

The Government has announced a €3m donation towards combating child labour, human trafficking and forced labour in the developing world.

The money, which will be channelled through the International Labour Organisation, will also be used to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

More than 218 million children worldwide are involved in child labour, while 12 million are victims of forced labour.

Studies have also found that around 2.5 million people have been trafficked.
