Talks on ambulance dispute get underway today

Talks aimed at resolving a row between the HSE and ambulance crews in north Tipperary are due to get underway at the Labour Relations Commission today.

The dispute centres on new rostering arrangements which would increase on-call hours for workers.

SIPTU says the move would add around 25 minutes to response times.

The union says it has put forward other ways of saving money and is warning of strike action if an agreement cannot be reached with the HSE.
