Girl, 11, dies after being hit by car in Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a road accident in Dublin yesterday in which an 11-year-old girl died after being knocked down by a car.
The incident happened at Diswellstown Road in Carpenterstown just before 2pm.
Gardaí say they are particularly interested in speaking to a man who was jogging in the area at the time and the driver of a blue car that was travelling from the direction of Diswellstown Bridge.
Meanwhile, a 44-year-old woman has died in hospital in the North after being knocked down by a lorry during the weekend.
The woman suffered serious injuries in the incident on Victoria Road in Derry on Saturday and died in hospital yesterday afternoon.
