Workers are set to picket two 4Home stores after talks on a redundancy deal broke down yesterday.

Mandate Trade Union today served notice of industrial action on 4Home Superstores Ltd.

The DIY company's decision to close the Mitchelstown outlet resulted in a sit-in on August 13 that lasted for two days.

The 24 workers involved in the dispute at the Mitchelstown and Fermoy outlets will picket the company on Tuesday next, after an intervention by the Labour Relations Commission failed to resolve the row.

Mandate’s Divisional Organiser, Lorraine O’Brien said she was extremely frustrated with the attitude of the company towards the workers and the lack of progress made through negotiations.
