SVP concerned about cost of schoolbooks

The Society of St Vincent de Paul has expressed concern at the amount of money parents are expected to pay for schoolbooks every year.

The charity has written to teachers' unions urging them to stop changing books from one year to the next in an effort to ease the burden on hard-pressed families.
