Hundreds turn out for Seb Creane funeral

Hundreds of people have turned out in Bray, Co Wicklow, to pay their last respects to the 22-year-old student who was stabbed to death at his home in the town last weekend.

Sebastian Creane is due to be laid to rest in Ballina, Co Mayo, this afternoon following funeral Mass at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Bray.

The Mass began with a rendition of 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters', sung by Tommy Fleming, with family friend Phil Coulter playing piano.

The chief celebrant, Brendan McHale, told the mourners that, although Mr Creane's days were brief, his spirit was "alive, awake and complete".

He said his music would live on through his parents, brother and friends.
