Police in south Belfast are investigating the discovery of a viable explosive device yesterday afternoon.

Police in south Belfast are investigating the discovery of a viable explosive device yesterday afternoon.

A number of homes were evacuated after the bomb was found in the Ulsterville Place area.

It was subsequently made safe by British Army bomb disposal experts and removed from the scene for examination.

The PSNI is appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
