Irish man shot dead in California

Police in the US state of California are investigating the fatal shooting of an Irish man during an incident on Sunday.

The shooting took place in Amador County in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The victim, a 48-year-old Kerryman, had been living in the US for around 20 years.

Reports this morning say his neighbour - with whom he had a long-standing dispute - has been charged with the shooting.
