Unions and management from the 4Home DIY store in Mitchelstown, Co Cork, are due to attend the Labour Relations Commission today for more talks on the closure of the outlet.

The dispute is moving to the LRC after the two sides failed to resolve the row over redundancy payments during talks yesterday.

Workers at the 4Home outlet were told last week that the store would be closing on Sunday and they would only be receiving their statutory redundancy entitlements.

The subsequently mounted a sit-in protest at the shop, but suspended their action to accommodate the ongoing talks.
