Up to 150 people are taking part in a massive search operation along the banks of the River Shannon for a 20-year-old man who's been missing since the beginning of the year.

Up to 150 people are taking part in a massive search operation along the banks of the River Shannon for a 20-year-old man who's been missing since the beginning of the year.

Shane Moran from Thomondgate in Limerick hasn't been seen since January 10th last.

Gardaí believe he was last spotted entering the water at the Shannon Bridge on the Dock Road in Limerick city.

Searches of the river and surrounding areas were carried out but there have been no sightings of Mr. Moran.

The new search is expected to last two days.
