Element Six workers vote for industrial action

Workers at Element Six in Co Clare have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.

Ninety-nine percent of SIPTU members and 100 per cent of TEEU members have backed a strike ballot.

Employees are unhappy at the redundancy terms being offered by the company.

Management at the Shannon plant have backed a plan to retain 240 jobs at the site but workers say they will not support it until better severance terms are agreed.
