Criminals to be banned from holding truck licences

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has announced plans to introduce new regulations to tighten up the issuing of road transport operators licences.

From September 10, anyone who has received a serious criminal conviction within the previous five years could be banned from holding such licences.
