Calls for monitoring of broadband performance

An Irish broadband industry analyst is calling for broadband performance in Ireland to be officially monitored.

Research carried out by Epitiro Ireland shows that Irish consumers are only getting 60% of the maximum speed advertised.

A recent study in the UK found that more than half of the UK's broadband customers were getting less than 50% the maximum advertised speed.

Philip Curneen of Epitiro claims that a strategy to monitor broadband must be put in place to help the industry to improve.
