Gardaí are continuing to question a 27-year-old Polish man today in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Kieran Cunningham in Galway last month.

Gardaí are continuing to question a 27-year-old Polish man today in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Kieran Cunningham in Galway last month.

The man was detained in the Pearse Street area of Dublin yesterday afternoon and taken to Galway for questioning.

Mr Cunningham, from Slievefinn in Claregalway, died after being stabbed on Williamsgate Street in Galway in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3.

He had been on a night out in the city with friends and was attacked shortly after leaving a nightclub.
