The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has found that Denis O'Brien does not have control of an undue number of media outlets in this country.

Today’s finding follows an investigation by BCI into the businessman's shares in radio, television, newspapers and magazines.

The Commission is satisfied that Mr O'Brien's interest in Independent News and Media, as well as in Newstalk, Today FM, Spin 1038 and Dublin's 98 does not constitute over-dominance of the market, in terms of influencing "opinion-forming power".
