Six years for man who masqueraded as doctor

A Cork man has todaybeen sentenced to six years in prison by Mr Justice Peter Charleton at the Central Criminal Court after he admitted to depriving his former fiancé of medical treatment by masquerading as a doctor.

Michael Ward (aged 32) of Clash Road, Little Island, pleaded guilty on day four of his trial to recklessly endangering the woman by masquerading as a doctor and purporting to treat her medical condition on dates between August and October 2006.
