Man held in connection with 1995 Ballymena murder

Police in the North are questioning a man in connection with the murder of a woman in Co Antrim 14 years ago.

The man was detained in the Cambridge area of England yesterday and brought to Antrim police station.

He is being questioned about the murder of Lorraine Mills, a 36-year-old mother-of-two, who was found dead in her home at Staff Drive in Ballymena in May 1995.

A post mortem examination concluded that she drowned in the bath.

A man was arrested and charged shortly after the murder, but the charges were subsequently dropped.
