A pensioner has been killed by a runaway pony at an agricultural show in Co Down.

A pensioner has been killed by a runaway pony at an agricultural show in Co Down.

The incident happened when the animal bolted and kicked 89-year-old Wesley McNeill in Castlewellan on Saturday.

He received medical attention from members of St John's Ambulance and an on-site doctor, but died at the scene.

Mr McNeill was a retired farmer from the village of Clough.
