DeBurca hits back at McKenna criticism

The Green Party has hit back at criticisms from its former MEP Patricia McKenna on its decision to campaign for a Yes vote in the re-run of the Lisbon treaty.

It follows the vote to support the Yes side this October, which was passed by the tightest margin possible yesterday.

Ms McKenna claims that the party's support for the referendum will be a boost for the No campaign.

The former Green Party MEP left the party in May and has since been a regular critic of the party's leadership.

Green Party spokesperson for European affairs Deirdre DeBurca, who has in the past accused Ms McKenna of being 'addicted to the politics of opposition', said it is time for her to move on.
