Two held after raiders set fire to shop in Clonmel
Gardaí have arrested two men following a raid on a shop in Co Tipperary last night in which the manager was assaulted and tied up before the building was set on fire.
Two men broke into the store on Queen Street in Clonmel at around 10pm before attacking the manager and tying him up in the back yard.
They then set fire to the shop and fled with an undisclosed sum of money.
The building suffered substantial damage in the blaze.
Two men aged 24 and 25 were detained a short time later and are being questioned today at Clonmel garda station.
