Date for Lisbon referendum may be announced today

The date for the re-run of the Lisbon Treaty referendum may be announced later today when the Government publishes the bill paving the way for the vote.

October 2 is seen as the most likely date for the ballot.

Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin is due to publish the legislation allowing for a second referendum at 11am this morning.
