Fatal assault may have been filmed on mobile phone

Gardaí say they believe an assault that led to the death of a 31-year-old woman in Dublin may have been recorded on a mobile phone.

The woman died in hospital yesterday after suffering head injuries in the assault outside the Rotunda Hospital last Thursday afternoon.

She is believed to have been attacked by a man after becoming involved in a row with another woman.

A 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested earlier this week in connection with the incident, but the woman has since been released without charge.

Detectives are appealing for the person who may have mobile phone footage of the assault to come forward as a matter of urgency.
