Cowen expects all judges to take voluntary cut

The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, has said he expects all judges to eventually take a voluntary pay cut in lieu of the public-sector pension levy.

The judiciary has been criticised over the past 24 hours following revelations that just 19 of Ireland's 148 judges have so far agreed to make a voluntary contribution to help plug the hole in the public finances
