Boy dies after road crash

An eight-year-old boy has died in hospital after being hit by a van in Donegal, gardaí confirmed today.

The youngster, who was seriously injured in the crash on Friday evening, lost his fight for life last night.

An investigation is underway into the fatal crash, which happened on Milltown Road in Convoy.

Gardaí said the scene was technically examined and inquiries are ongoing.

The van driver was not injured.
