Irish Euromillion winners shun limelight
Ireland’s newest lottery millionaires today shunned the limelight to secretly collect their massive €29m cheque.
A young man arrived at the National Lottery offices in Dublin to pick up the Euromillions jackpot from last Friday’s draw.
The €6 quick pick was bought in Dora Kelly’s Newsagents in Newcastle, Co Dublin on the day.
His family, who are keeping the win a secret, discovered their great luck last Saturday morning.
“At the moment, we are in a ’deep breath’ phase – getting used to the win and making sure that we get some good advice on what to do with it,” he said.
“We plan to have family celebrations and we are all, needless to say, extremely happy. As a family, we are very close and we plan to take a holiday together as soon as possible, so that’s something we will look forward to planning.
“We’d also like to thank the National Lottery for the care and courtesy they have extended to us in relation to this win.”
Dora Kelly, owner of the newsagents, received €25,000 for selling the winning ticket.
