Martin urges public to consider agreement
The Minister for Foreign Affairs is urging people to take a real look at the agreement reached today on the Lisbon Treaty.
Earlier today, Taoiseach Brian Cowen secured a number of legal guarantees on Ireland's neutrality, abortion laws, workers rights and taxation ahead of a re-run of Lisbon.
The referendum will take place in early October.
Minister Micheál Martin said today's deal is a legal decision that is binding.
He said all of the concerns that had been raised before have been addressed.
