British MPs call for all-Ireland crime co-operation

A House of Commons committee has backed calls for the establishment of an all-Ireland sex offenders list as part of greater co-operation on criminal justice matters in the North and the Republic.

The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee also wants greater cross-border co-operation on tackling organised crime.

It says legislation should be introduced to ensure more people can be tried on either side of the border for offences committed on the island of Ireland.

They committee says such legislation should cover people involved in human trafficking, money-laundering and fraud.
