Minister hopeful GAA players' grants can be rescued
The grants scheme for GAA intercounty players may still have a future according to the Sports Minister Martin Cullen.
Various reports had suggested that the scheme was set to be scrapped due to a lack of funds, with €3.5m currently allocated to players per year.
Cullen says funding is still an uncertain issue, but claims a meeting with Gaelic Players' Association chief Dessie Farrell next week could produce a solution.
