Romanian families forced to flee Belfast homes
More than 100 Romanians have fled their homes in south Belfast after enduring a week of racist abuse and attacks.
Twenty families were given sanctuary in a local church hall last night.
For more than a week, crowds have been gathering outside their homes, shouting abuse and pelting the houses with missiles.
Several windows have been broken, but nobody has been arrested in connection with the situation.
Supporters have accused the police of failing to protect immigrant families in south Belfast, but the PSNI says it will be stepping up patrols in the area.
