AIDS Alliance concerned about rise in HIV cases

The Dublin AIDS Alliance says rising HIV infections in Ireland are a cause for major concern.

Figures released by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre last week revealed a 3.6% increase in HIV cases last year.

More than 400 new cases were diagnosed in 2008.

The Dublin AIDS Alliance is calling on the Government to address the situation by prioritising investment in sexual health.
