Blind man pleads guilty to manslaughter

A Dublin man has pleaded guilty to killing a separated father of three in Kilmainham last year.

A Dublin man has pleaded guilty to killing a separated father of three in Kilmainham last year.

Michael Byrne (aged 36), Clonard Rd, Crumlin pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Dennis Brennan (60) at Bowbridge Court, Kilmainham on a date unknown between July 5 and July 8 last year.

The plea was accepted by the state.

Byrne, who is blind, was wearing dark glasses and carrying a cane.

There were calls of "scumbag" as he left the court.

He was remanded on bail until sentencing on July 27.
