Thousands march in solidarity with clerical abuse victims

An eerie silence fell over Dublin today as more than 5,000 men, women and children weaved through the city in solidarity with the victims of abuse in church-run institutions.

The horrors inflicted on tens of thousands of children in orphanages and schools across the country spilled onto the streets of the capital as survivors were supported in a public demonstration of suffering and grief.
