Man charged with attempting to kill Belfast hospital patient

A man was charged with attempted murder today after allegedly trying to kill a patient in hospital.

A man was charged with attempted murder today after allegedly trying to kill a patient in hospital.

The man, 59, is alleged by police to have walked into the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast yesterday and attempted go suffocate a man – said to be a friend – being treated after suffering a stroke.

A police spokeswoman said the accused man was arrested at the hospital .

He will appear before Belfast Magistrates Court later.
