Govt battling for survival after election meltdown

The Government is facing into a major battle for survival following a disastrous performance by Fianna Fáil and the Green Party in last Friday's elections.

Fianna Fáil has seen its number of local-authority seats fall to a historic low, while the Greens have been virtually wiped out, winning just three seats nationwide and losing all their seats in Dublin.
