de Burca raises eyebrows with recount request
A recheck of votes is underway in the Dublin Euro constituency, following a request from the Greens Deirdre de Burca.
She has no chance of getting a seat but is hoping to secure enough votes to recoup some of her election expenses.
The recheck will have no real impact on the overall result and once it's complete the counting will recommence.
Fine Gael's Gay Mitchell is to top the poll with Labour's Proinsias de Rossa coming in second and a real battle for the final seat between Sinn Fein's Mary Lou McDonald, Socialist Joe Higgins and Fianna Fail's Eoin Ryan.
