The Labour Party have said the results of the local elections are showing that the country is looking for new political and national leadership.

Eamon Gilmore's party has had its best local election in its history.

It is now the largest party in Dublin.

He said the voters have voiced their dissatisfaction with the government very clearly this weekend.
