Taxi drivers hand in letters to Transport Dept

Representatives from four organisations representing taxi drivers have handed in letters of protest and petitions to the Department of Transport.

It follows a four-hour stoppage this morning between 7am and 11am, which all drivers who are concerned about the industry were asked to support.

The drivers are ultimately calling for the resignation of Taxi Regulator Kathleen Doyle.

They claim that she and the commission have not negotiated with drivers when implementing significant changes.
