Twelve financial institutions operating in Ireland - including all the main banks - have signed up to a new scheme for helping people who get into trouble with loan repayments.

Twelve financial institutions operating in Ireland - including all the main banks - have signed up to a new scheme for helping people who get into trouble with loan repayments.

The Money Advice and Budgeting Service and the Irish Banking Federation have agreed a protocol which will see special arrangements made with customers who get into difficulty with loans and credit-card debt.
