Two arrested after attempted robbery in Down

Two men were arrested today during an attempted cash-in-transit robbery.

Police swooped on the pair at a service station on the Dundrum Road in Newcastle, Co Down.

The arrests at around 1pm were part of a planned operation by the Police Service’s Organised Crime Squad.

The operation is targeting cash-in-transit robberies in the North.
